My siblings were in town to celebrate my dad’s 95th birthday. I heard about an extraordinary art exhibit at the Sahara West Library, so we decided to check it out and were delighted with what we saw. Mom, who has Alzheimer’s, was absolutely captivated and in her happy place. I wanted to pull up a chair to watch the almost 20-minute digital art video. We spent almost two hours there, walking the three exhibit rooms twice. Hayk Adamyan, Cida de Aragon, and Robert Beckmann were the three featured artists. Each artist was unique and unlike anything I have ever seen. Digital art, oil paintings, and photography created an awe inspiring experience. Cida de Aragon’s innovative digital art pieces push the boundaries of technology and creativity. Robert Beckmann’s seemingly unambiguous oil paintings bring dreamlike and seemingly ordinary compositions to life, sparking questions and emotions. Hayk Adamyan’s stunning photography captures compelling moments and perspectives with remarkable precision and technical genius. Their works create a blend of modern and traditional mediums, inviting viewers to explore a rich tapestry of artistic expression. This art exhibit runs until February 22, 2025 and can be seen during normal library hours (though the art gallery closes 15 minutes before the library closes).
